For more than twenty years, I have worked with adults, older adults, children, and adolescents across private practice, public health, education, and university settings.
Today, I practise as a Psychoanalyst. My work is grounded in the psychoanalytic tradition, which has shaped not only my clinical practice but also the way I understand emotional life. Rather than seeking immediate answers, psychoanalysis invites a careful exploration of what lies beneath symptoms, allowing meaning to emerge through time, language, and the therapeutic relationship.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master's degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I trained in psychoanalysis through the Australian Psychoanalytical Society (APAS). Alongside my clinical practice, I teach and provide supervision to clinicians and professionals with an interest in psychoanalysis.
Every clinical encounter is unique. My role is not to offer ready-made interpretations, but to create the conditions in which each person can begin to think, speak, and understand their experience in their own way.
The Analyst Behind the Listening
Gloria Blanco
Over the years, I have come to understand that emotional suffering cannot always be explained by what is happening in the present. Anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or a persistent sense of being stuck often carry meanings that are not immediately visible.
My work is guided by psychoanalytic listening—an approach that looks beyond symptoms to understand the unique emotional history of each person. Rather than offering quick interpretations or predetermined solutions, I believe that understanding develops through time, careful listening, and the therapeutic relationship itself.
Every person arrives with a different story. For that reason, every therapeutic process is unique, respecting the complexity of the individual rather than reducing their experience to a diagnosis alone.
A Different Way of Listening
The Meaning Behind DTHINKER
DTHINKER takes its name from Rodin's The Thinker, not simply as a symbol of thought, but as a reminder that understanding cannot be rushed.
In psychoanalysis, thinking is never separate from feeling. It develops through listening, reflection, and the gradual discovery of meanings that are not immediately apparent.
The name reflects the kind of work I hope to offer: a space where time, attention, and thought make understanding possible.
