PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis

A different way of understanding emotional suffering.

Every Symptom Has a History

People often come to therapy because they feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or because the same difficulties keep returning in their relationships or daily life.

From a psychoanalytic perspective, these experiences are not simply problems to remove. They are understood as expressions of something meaningful that deserves to be explored.

Rather than asking "How can I make this feeling disappear?", psychoanalysis asks "What might this experience be trying to communicate?"

Understanding this can create lasting change.

Looking Beyond What Is Visible

Many aspects of our emotional life exist outside of conscious awareness.

Past experiences, relationships and unconscious patterns can influence how we feel, think and relate to others without us fully realizing it.

Psychoanalysis offers the time and space to gradually explore these patterns, helping experiences that once felt confusing become more understandable.

The Therapeutic Relationship

Change does not come from advice or quick answers.

It develops through a therapeutic relationship built on trust, consistency and careful listening.

My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to create a space where you can speak freely, think openly and discover meanings that may not yet be fully known to you.

What you can expect

Each session lasts 50 minutes and takes place within a confidential and consistent therapeutic setting.

Sessions are available in person on the Gold Coast and online across Australia.

There is no expectation to know exactly what to say or where to begin. Therapy begins wherever you are.

When People Seek Psychoanalysis

People seek psychoanalysis for many reasons.

Some come because anxiety, sadness or emotional pain have become difficult to bear.

Others notice that the same relationship patterns keep repeating, despite their efforts to change.

Some are facing major life transitions, grief or uncertainty.

Others simply wish to understand themselves more deeply and live with greater emotional freedom.

There is no single reason to begin. Every person's story is unique.

Every symptom has a history.

Understanding that history can change the way you experience yourself.
